Oil and Gas

Picture the future of North Dakota. Is is amber waves of grain? Or is it a sacrifice zone for industry? Oil and gas development must be safe and responsible. Our state must protect the people and land of North Dakota first. That's why DRC is working on landowner rights, hydraulic fracturing, and protecting our land and communities.

Protecting Local Farmers

North Dakota farmers, ranchers and rural communities need prosperity and sustainability to thrive. Dakota Resource Council has worked for years for fair and open livestock markets to restore competition. DRC also helped convince Monsanto not to bring out genetically modified wheat in 2004, which would have closed many foreign markets to North Dakota farmers and jeopardized consumer choice.

Preserving Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Another piece of rural North Dakota is about to be changed forever by a proposed coal drying plant, a coal mine, and a coal power generating plant. This industrial coal project threatens the way of life for the farming community of South Heart, ND and is sited just 13 miles from Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
